Puttaswamy Composite Pre-University College, Mysuru, was established in 2002 under the guidance and patronage of the Honourable President, Sri Gundappa Gowda, and the Honourable Secretary, Sri P. Vishwanath. The college was founded with the vision of providing value-based education and is committed to serving the educational needs of all sections of society by offering quality education at an affordable cost, while promoting academic excellence.

- Puttaswamy Composite Pre -University College offers both Science and Commerce streams with subject combinations such as PCMB, PCMC, ECBA, and EGBA. English is offered as the second language, while Kannada, Hindi, and Sanskrit are available as first language options.
The college has consistently achieved excellent academic results, including a hat-trick of 100% results in the PU Board Examinations. In 2024, the college recorded 67 distinctions and 84 first-class results. In 2025, it continued its success with 61 distinctions and 77 first-class results. These achievements are the result of regular assessments, systematic examinations, and the guidance of qualified and experienced teaching staff. Special lectures by expert faculty also help students reduce examination anxiety and perform well.

The college has once again achieved outstanding results in the II PUC examinations. In the Science stream, the institution proudly secured the II PUC Mysore District Topper, along with 5 toppers (including 2nd rank in Mysore District secured by Preksha C), 27 distinctions, and 60 first classes.
In the Commerce stream, the college recorded remarkable success with 2 toppers, Indra M and Nandini M G, securing 3rd rank in Mysore District, along with 63 distinctions and 29 first classes, including the distinction of producing the 3rd District Topper in Mysore.
